Being an insurance agent I am very much tied up with work and get very less time to travel around. After days of hectic schedule I decided to take a break from work. I planned out a holiday trip for myself. I was quite excited with the idea and was jiggling with places that I could visit. I couldn’t go for a long break so I knew I couldn’t plan for a trip to some far off places.
Finally I came upon the decision to visit the city of Hyderabad. I had heard a lot about its tourist spots such as the Birla mandir, film city, Nehru zoological park etc and hence didn’t want to miss any of these during my visit.
The first thing that I had to do was to make my reservations from Jaipur to Hyderabad. I checked out all possible permutations of modes of transport on the route from Jaipur to Hyderabad. As I prefer budget travel I opted for the option of travelling via railways. Mainly there are two trains that connect directly to Hyderabad.
Firstly the Jp Mysore Exp train (12976) that can be boarded from the Jaipur station (JP) at 1935 hours and takes two days to reach the Kacheguda (KCG) station at 2345 hours. The fares for first Ac is Rs 4335, for second AC is Rs 2520, for third Ac the fare is Rs 1730 and for sleeper class it takes just Rs 665. The train operates between the two stations on Monday and Wednesday.
The second train that travels between the two cities is the Jp Sc Express (19713) that departs from Jaipur (JP) station at 2105 hours and reaches the Secunderabad junction railway station (SC) in three days time at 0730 hours.
The fare for first AC is Rs 4385 for second Ac is Rs 2545, for third Ac is Rs 1735 and for the sleeper class is Rs 650. This train operates only on Saturday. Although this train takes a lot more time than the Jp Mysore Express but since my vacations were starting from Saturday I was not willing to waste more time waiting for Monday. So I took the Jp Sc Express as my final option.
The best things about train trips are not just that it fits one’s pocket but the glimpses of scenic beauty that can be seen throughout the journey keeps the charm of this traditional mode of travel alive. I enjoyed every bit of the journey and was looking forward to reaching my destination.
